About Us
FMRK Diagnostic Technologies was born from a shared vision between founder Faisal Khan (CEO) and biomedical engineer Dr. Lorenzo D’Amico (CTO). Both had been independently pushing the boundaries of diagnostic testing—and both had faced the same challenge: speed means little if samples still need to travel miles for processing. They set out to solve that problem by bringing lab-quality culture and sensitivity testing closer to the patient.
Their solution is the RapidAST—a compact, easy-to-use, point-of-care test that delivers targeted antibiotic recommendations using clinical urine samples. At the heart of this innovation is FMRK’s patented Sterile Sample Transfer System, which automates sample extraction, processing, and loading into a microfluidic chip—no pipettes, no bulky equipment.
Today, FMRK is focused on transforming diagnostic testing in veterinary care, with plans to expand into human healthcare in the near future.
